近期，Goran Dragic 與熱火簽下 2 年價值 3740 萬美元的續約合約，對此，Goran Dragic 接受了美聯社的表示，透露 Jimmy Butler 上週打電話給他，說如果他不和熱火簽約的話，那麼他的身體就會受到傷害：「他是一個強硬的傢伙……我不想看到他追著我的屁股打人。」
顯然，Butler說的只是玩笑話，這可以看出兩個人的關係很好，而且Butler無比希望 Dragic 能夠回歸熱火。
而且，熱火為了挽留Butler，還在他斯洛維尼亞的家裡周邊擺放了很多牌子，上面放著他的照片和熱火的名字，以及熱火挽留他的話語，這讓 Dragic 很感動。
Goran Dragic：「我當時在車裡，和我妻子、她的兄弟在一起，他們開車讓我穿過了那些廣告牌。我事先不知道，他們說朝右看，我就看到了自己的照片，和熱火的話語。這非常打動我的心。」

熱火總裁Pat Riley就續約 Meyers Leonard 和 Goran Dragic 發表聲明。
