公鹿隊球星「字母哥」 Giannis Antetokounmpo 近期有資格獲得約為5年 2.47 億美元的續約，而他本人從一開始就明確表示，只要公鹿能夠引進總冠軍水準的人才，他就會留在密爾瓦基，在 2020 年的休賽期，公鹿隊也簽下了後場球星 Jrue Holiday，成為頭條新聞。
近期，公鹿開始新賽季訓練營，字母哥則接受在希臘有線電視節目 Cosmote TV 的採訪，談及了 Kobe Bryant、LeBron James 等球星。
他說 Kobe 和 LeBron 對他的影響很大，他非常尊重他們，而且 LeBron 是他個人偶像。
字母哥表示：「Kobe 告訴我如果要想獲得勝利，成為偉大的球員，必須要做出犧牲。LeBron 是世界上最好的球員，他處在另一個層次上面。他是我的偶像，我能感覺出來他就是最好的球員，他現在已經在聯盟征戰了17個年頭。」
他還希望 LeBron、Anthony Davis 或者 Kevin Durant 能來密爾瓦基打球：「如果 LeBron、AD或者KD來公鹿加入我，我會非常開心。我不會在意我是第一號、第二號或者第三號球星。」
鑑於NBA最近幾個賽季嚴打非法招募，字母哥的這番話有非法招募的嫌疑，如果有人為此舉報，那麼聯盟可能會進行專門的調查。
字母哥目前已經老家希臘回到密爾瓦基，現在全聯盟都在等待他的決定，看他是否會在今年和公鹿簽下 2.47 億美元的超級頂薪續約合約。有消息表明，公鹿對他提前續約持樂觀態度。
